Hall battles hard to take the first ABC of the season!
Rob Hall won the first ABC of the season defeating Peter Sheehan in a tight cagey final! Both players showed some signs of fatigue after a long day but it was Hall that edged the victory 228(50)-217.

Hall on his way to the final played some good billiards defeating Vince Fitter, Nathan Mann, Alan Norwood, Chris Achilles (Q/F), and Jonathan Marwood (S/F).
The Semi final match was a high quality affair with Hall hitting a 169 early, Marwood replying with a 122 before Hall came back with another ton (104), for the match to end 353-206. Hall also had efforts of 280 against Achilles and 231 against Norwood.
Sheehan progressed to the final with victories over Neil Forsyth, Joe Maloney, Saturdays winner Craig Fitzpatrick (Q/F), and Adam Clarke (S/F). In the semi final he knocked in the day’s high break with a run of 596 in a 773-134 win.
Paul Robinson and Chris Taylor were the other losing quarter finalists to Marwood and Clarke respectively. Robinson had his best one hour ABC performance with breaks of 93 and 55 in his first game against Ron Bickerdike.
The plate was won by the talented Matt Peaker with a 308(51) – 157(51) win over Simon Snee. Both players hit a series of breaks in the plate with 88 being Peakers highest visit, and 73 Snee’s highest. The losing semi finalists in the plate were Tony Cooke Vs Snee and Chris Appleton Vs Peaker.

There were 51 entries on the day and we thank the Northern Snooker Centre for their hospitality!
The next ABC is in Halifax on October 11th.
