The Over 60’s Championship was played at Cueball club, Derby on 11th May 2025.
Congratulations to Paul Roberts who won the EABA over 60s championship beating Terry Mcadam in the final 172 to 143.
The plate comp was won by the every green Edward Fielding who beat Roy Denson 196 to 86.
The highest break was a fabulous 172 by Mark Hirst.
There were 27 entries and big thanks to Mark Graham for his TD work .
Roberts, also a keen golfer, beat the defending champion Mark Hirst in the first semi-final.
In the other semi-final, Merseysider Terry McAdam beat Teessider Ron Bickerdike to prevent an all-Teesside final.
The final was a tight affair, with McAdam’s late scoring burst falling just short.
Roberts’ win gives him a place in the EABA Whitworth masters competition to be played at the start of the 2025/26 season.
In the plate competition, EABA president Eddie Fielding played very well and steadily all the way through to win, including his semi-final against fellow England senior international Eva Palmius.
Roy Denson was the plate runner up, beating John Bedford in his semi.
There were 27 entries, including 5 non-members of the association who will hopefully be part of the calendar of events next season.
