
Record breaking turnout for the Jock McGregor 2024 event!
52 runners entered the Jock McGregor 2024 championship meaning a long day, but it was great to see new faces including Paul Wood, Paul Lloyd, Martin Walters, Tim Fox and Jimmy Gratton.
The field of players ranged from Peter Sheehan and Rob Hall on -220 to players on +130.
This is the one event in the EABA calendar that gives all players a chance of winning.
Nathan Mann beat Mark Hirst in the final of the main competition narrowly by 13 (90-77). Nathan got 100 ahead before Mark came back strongly but didn’t quite get over the line.

In the semis Mann (-80) beat Peter Sheehan (-220) 132-49 aided by a break of 96.
In the other semi final Hirst (-100) beat Ian White (-10) with three breaks over 50, 183-97.

The losing quarter finalists were Paul Wood, Ian Whiting, Chris Achilles, and Brian Barnett.
In the plate event Rob Hall (-220) beat Jason Alford (+20) 197-141, with a break of 174 in the final.

Jason competed well and the final margin of victory was just 56 points.
Hall beat Chris Taylor in the plate semis and Alford beat Eddie Duggan.

This is Mann’s third victory in six years in this prestigious event.
