Mann and Marwood victorious in Northampton!
A bumper weekend of Billiards was on display at Barratts Snooker club in Northampton!
Saturday
A strong field of 40 competed for the English Match-play title.
This was played over short format matches (150 up) with a time cap.
Nathan Mann defeated Jonathan Marwood in the final to take home the trophy.
En route he had wins over John Hughes (2-1), Richard Whittle (2-1), Steve Kershaw (2-0), Mark Hirst (2-0) and Chris Achilles (2-0).
Marwood had beaten Kell 2-0 in the semis and also knocked out Fitzpatrick and Norman in previous matches.
Mark Hirst had a strong win over Rob Marshall in his last 16 match.
In the plate event the final was won by Alex Donne beating Dave Gillingham in the final.
Donne defeated Chris Mitchell in his semi final and Gillingham got the better of Paul Robinson.
Sunday
In a field of 43, Marwood went one step further and defeated Darren Kell in the third ABC of the season 188(67)-153.
Marwood defeated Mark Graham comfortably in the semi finals and edged out John Hughes in a close q/f match.

Mark Hirst had a notable win over Rob Hall in the first round, the latter showing commitment to the cause after landing in the UK at 6.30am this morning.
The high break on the day was 116 by Marwood in his win over Richard Sutton.
In the plate competition Chris Appleton won the final by 8 points against Adam Clarke.
Appleton played well in his semi final with Chris Achilles, and Clarke beat Mark Downing in the other semi final.
